Arsenal are closing in on a deal to keep Dani Ceballos on loan at the Emirates for another season.
The 23-year-old has spent this season on loan with the Gunners, where he has scored two goals and registered two assists for the Premier League club.
Arsenal have expressed their interest in re-signing Ceballos, but Madrid have placed a hefty £30million price tag on the player if they want to sign him on a permanent basis.
Ceballos is out of favour with Real boss Zinedine Zidane and the Spanish giants would look to sell him as an opportunity to raise cash to dip into the transfer market.
But, with limited interest in taking Ceballos on a permanent basis, it is believed a loan deal for another 12 months between Arsenal and Ceballos is ‘almost done’, according to AS.
The Spain international, who still has three years left on his deal at Real, is reportedly keen to ensure he is guaranteed regular first-team football with the European Championships nearing.
Ceballos’s season-long loan initially ran until June 30 but Arsenal extended his contract until the end of the 2019-2020 campaign following the three-month football hiatus due to the global pandemic.
Ceballos has been a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side, starting all but one of Arsenal’s league games since Project Restart.
The attacking midfielder will hope to recreate his impressive form at Arsenal this season next year as he looks to further his career with the Gunners.
