Arsenal has put a stumbling block in the way of Nuno Espirito Santo’s transfer aspirations.
In their search for a midfielder, Tottenham is depending on Arsenal’s transfer activity.
Tottenham are interested in signing Roma midfielder Lorezno Pellegrini, but can only do so once Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka has signed with the Italian club. The Serie A club, which is coached by former Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho, is yet to decide whether or not to let Pellegrini depart.
Last season, Pellegrini led Roma with seven goals and six assists.
Last season, he mostly played as a No 10, although his skill set allows him to play a deeper role in Tottenham’s midfield.
Roberto Mancini’s European Championships squad included the Italian, who has 17 caps for his country.
Tottenham are interested in signing the Italian midfielder, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, but it is unclear whether he would be interested in moving to north London.
Roma would like to bind him down to a new contract, which would eliminate his £30 million release clause, according to the report.
In the case of Xhaka, the Italian news site claims that, while Roma wants the midfielder, they do not have the funds to meet Arsenal’s £17 million (€20 million) asking price.
Xhaka was a vital member of Switzerland’s squad at Euro 2020, which has piqued interest in the 28-year-old.
Roma are aiming to bolster their midfield after suffering in the league last season under Paulo Fonseca, despite beating Ajax in the Europa League semi-finals.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, was also connected with the squad from the Italian city.
Hojbjerg, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, and Oliver Skipp are among Tottenham’s current midfield options.
Ndombele, Winks, and Sissoko have all been connected with departures.
Harry Kane, Spurs’ star player, is another player who could be on his way out.
According to reports, the England international has indicated his intention to quit the club this summer.
Nuno Espirito Santo, the new Tottenham manager, has stated that he believes Kane will be a Spurs player next season.
“Harry is our player, end of story. “There’s no need to discuss anything else,” he remarked.
“He has a difficult job to accomplish, and he is obviously committed to the national team, so I opted not to speak to any of them.”
“When they arrive, I’ll speak. “Brinkwire Summary News” is what we’re talking about.
