Arsenal ace Aubameyang pays tribute to Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman after goal vs Liverpool in Community Shield

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG dedicated his Community Shield goal to the late actor Chadwick Boseman.

The Gabon superstar needed just 12 minutes to fire Mikel Arteta’s men in front against Liverpool at Wembley.

And he celebrated by pulling out the ‘Black Panther’ celebration made famous by Boseman in the hit Hollywood film.

Boseman sadly died of cancer aged just 43 on Friday.

He received rave reviews for his performance in the lead role in Black Panther, the first-ever Black superhero movie and the highest-grossing film of 2018.

After firing in the sensational opener, Aubameyang ran to the touchline and crossed his arms in tribute to the actor.

The 31-year-old picked up the ball on the left, cut inside and fired an unstoppable strike into the corner.

Last year Aubameyang shared his love for the film by wearing a mask worn by Boseman in Black Panther after scoring against Rennes.

After the game he said the mask represents him and his Gabon team-mates who are known as the Panthers.

He said: “I needed a mask which represents me and that’s the Black Panther. In Gabon, we call the national team the Panthers.”

Aubameyang shared his sadness at the news on Twitter with an image of Boseman alongside the caption “Wakanda forever.”

It was a popular term used throughout the film to raise awareness of the fictional African city.
