Antoine Griezmann of Barcelona is expected to be approached by Manchester United if the circumstances are perfect.

Antoine Griezmann of Barcelona has been linked with a move to Manchester United for some time.

According to rumours, Manchester United is interested in signing Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann, who is now unsure about his future at the club. The Catalan giants are ready to offload the France international in order to reduce their salary cost. And it’s possible that a move to Old Trafford is in the cards.

Adidas and Manchester United have unveiled their official 2021/22 home jersey, which features a modern take on the club’s traditional designs.

Griezmann was bought for £107 million by Barcelona in the summer transfer window of 2019, with the expectation that he would be a major hit at the Nou Camp.

However, after scoring 20 goals in all competitions last season, the France international has fallen short of expectations this season.

Griezmann, who earns a reputed £600,000 per week, has failed to lead Barcelona to Champions League triumph, and as a result, they’re open to bids this summer.

Sport has now ruled out selling to Atletico Madrid, citing a desire to avoid a repeat of the Luis Suarez fiasco from a year ago.

Suarez was given permission to cross the line, and he made Barcelona regret their choice by leading Diego Simeone’s team to La Liga triumph.

United will make a move for Griezmann if the conditions are perfect, according to the same publication.

Jose Mourinho had planned to bring the World Cup champion to Old Trafford in 2017, shortly after leading the team to Europa League triumph and into the Champions League.

That, however, did not happen in the end.

Atletico was facing a transfer ban at the time, and Griezmann chose to stay with Simeone’s team out of loyalty.

United were obliged to look for alternatives as a result, finally signing Romelu Lukaku despite being close to signing Alvaro Morata.

And it’s feasible that United will revive their interest in the France international four years from now.
