After Nuno’s rejection, Tottenham’s record signing Tanguy Ndombele is ‘considering options.’
Tanguy Ndombele is rumored to be contemplating his future at Tottenham Hotspur.
According to rumours, Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele is evaluating his future after being rejected by new manager Nuno Espirito Santo ahead of Sunday’s friendly against Arsenal.
Ndombele is Spurs’ all-time leading scorer, but he’s had a difficult time in North London since joining for £55 million from Lyon two years ago.
In his debut season under Jose Mourinho, he only appeared in a handful of Premier League games, starting only 12 of them.
The Frenchman had a more prosperous season last year. There were 33 league appearances, including 28 starts, as well as a few memorable moments.
Ndmbele appeared to have fully settled in at Spurs with a lob against Sheffield United in January.
However, Ndombele’s most recent failure has caused him to reconsider where he should play football next season.
Despite being available for selection, new Spurs manager Nuno chose not to add Ndombele in his team for the North London derby friendly against Arsenal, according to The Athletic.
Nuno chose a massive 25-man roster for the match, including a 14-man replacements’ bench.
The squad included some of the club’s academy players, although Ndombele was not among them.
Nuno confirmed after the game that the 24-year-old was not hurt, and according to The Athletic, he will now assess his alternatives until the transfer window closes.
“Today, Tanguy is not with us. He is not hurt, but we believe it is not the right time for him to play,” the 47-year-old said cryptically after the game.
During an open training session at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Ndombele was recently recorded in an unusual display of fury after not being awarded a free kick.
Spurs won courtesy to a late strike from Son Heung-min.
For the match, which was organized to raise money for mental health organization Mind, both sides named mixed teams comprising first-team stars and periphery players.
Only one of Tottenham’s new acquisitions, goalkeeper Perluigi Gollini, saw action in the second half.
Gollini has joined on a season-long loan from Atalanta, where Cristian Romero has also joined in a £40 million deal.
After representing Spain in the Olympics, winger Bryan Gil, who was signed from Sevilla, has been granted an extended sabbatical.
Nuno will also want to figure out what will happen to “Brinkwire Summary News” in the future.
