After Man City’s defeat, Paul Scholes blasts Manchester United’s star as “useless on the ball.”

After struggling against Manchester City, the Manchester United legend says Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a good defender but lacks the technical ability to play as a wing-back.

Following Manchester City’s 2-0 win at Old Trafford on Saturday, Paul Scholes slammed Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United for being “useless on the ball.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chose a 3-5-2 formation, with Wan-Bissaka playing as a right wing-back, as he did against Atalanta in the Champions League last week.

However, the 23-year-old struggled to adjust to the demands of the position, and he looked out of place against City’s Joao Cancelo.

Scholes claimed after the game that Solskjaer’s formation didn’t suit the players he had at his disposal, citing Wan-Bissaka’s lack of ball control as proof.

“I’ve said before that the 3-5-2 doesn’t suit our players,” the United legend told Premier League Productions.

“Wan-Bissaka is useless on the ball – he’s a great defender, but he’s useless at right-back.”

“Today we had three center-halves, none of whom were particularly gifted with the ball.

Ole has to find a way… There’s a squad of players there who could do the job.”

Wan-Bissaka joined United from Crystal Palace for a fee of £50 million in 2019.

Since then, the tough-tackling defender has been a mainstay in United’s lineup, but questions have been raised about his future ability.

Wan-Bissaka has yet to earn an England cap, despite the fact that he is ahead of Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, and Kieran Trippier in the international pecking order.

United dropped to sixth place in the Premier League after their fourth loss of the season, adding to the pressure on Solskjaer.
