Eli Junior Kroupi, a rising star at Bournemouth, has reportedly been added to Bayern Munich’s shortlist after Anthony Gordon was passed over.
After scoring 13 goals in his first season with the Cherries, 19-year-old Kroupi has already drawn interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
After Barcelona beat them to acquire Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for £69.3 million, Bayern are reportedly interested.
According to reports from their football team, Absolut Bayern, and Munich’s local newspaper, the Munchner Merkur, the team views him as a “alternative target.”
With 13 goals this season, Junior Kroupi established the record for the most goals scored by a teenager in their first Premier League season.
After helping Lorient get promoted to the French top division with 23 goals in all competitions, he signed a £10 million contract in the summer.
Eli Junior Kroupi, a youngster from Bournemouth, is supposedly being pursued by Bayern Munich.
The forward has a 2030 contract with Bournemouth.
Thierry Henry, who once wanted to call him up for the France under-21s when he was just 16, has praised him.
“I don’t care about his age when I see a player with that raw talent and that determination,” Henry said to Sky Sports. “That didn’t really work out because he hadn’t even played for the U17s, U18s, or U19s.”
Although Junior Kroupi was left off of France’s World Cup roster, some believed the youthful player could infiltrate Didier Deschamps’ team.
During his year in the Premier League, he has improved his English and is a versatile player who can play at number nine or number ten.
“I think Junior has been a big challenge for me this season, one of the biggest challenges because we noticed straightaway that he has special things,” Andoni Iraola remarked about him last month. I think his finishing is excellent, but we had to work hard with him, and in particular, he had to put in a lot of work that he wasn’t accustomed to in order to earn his minutes. He has improved as a player, in my opinion. I am aware that he had a strong start and scored goals, but I try not to discuss goals with him because they are a natural trait that he will always possess. As a result, I have made an effort to get him to concentrate on other aspects, and he has significantly improved. He has given us the work rate to keep everything together and not suffer too much on defense, which has allowed us to field a very offensive lineup over the past month. It’s his first season in the Premier League, and he’s still very young. He will undoubtedly continue to develop and play even more minutes in the upcoming season. Although he has a high ceiling, I believe this is the ideal setting for him to keep developing.
