After Hubert Hurkacz’s loss, Roger Federer may have played his “last ever match” at Wimbledon.

In the quarter-finals of Wimbledon, Roger Federer was stunned by Hubert Hurkacz.

According to Greg Rusedski, Roger Federer may have played his “last ever match” at Wimbledon after losing to Hubert Hurkacz. Federer, who is 39 years old, was attempting to become the oldest player in the Open era to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals.

He got off to a rough start against Adrian Mannarino, who had to quit due to injury before the fifth set.

In the following rounds, however, Federer’s form improved dramatically, with straight-set victories over Richard Gasquet, Cameron Norrie, and Lorenzo Sonego.

The brilliant Hurkacz, who defeated world No. 2 Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round, was next to stand in Federer’s way.

The 24-year-old is a powerful serve-and-volley player who has had some early success.

Prior to the 2021 Wimbledon Championships, he has been unable to make an impression at the Grand Slams.

Federer was considered the favorite going into the tournament, with some even predicting that he would reach the final.

After a long injury layoff, the Swiss tennis legend placed a high priority on becoming fit and ready to participate at his favorite Grand Slam.

And he’s made it clear that his performance at Wimbledon will likely determine how long he plays before retiring.

Hurkacz, on the other hand, pulled off the tournament’s biggest upset by upsetting Federer in straight sets.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion was unable to challenge Hurkacz in any way.

Former British No. 1 Rusesdski has questioned if Federer will ever return to Wimbledon.

“Did we just witness Roger @Wimbledon’s final ever match?” he tweeted. ”

The biggest triumph in Hurkacz’s career rendered him dumbfounded.

He said, “I don’t know what to say, it’s really special for me.”

“I’ve been playing against Roger on this unique court, and it’s like a dream come true to play against him.

When asked if he ever envisioned defeating Federer in the manner in which he did, Hurkacz replied, “Probably not.”

“I’m performing in front of you guys. It’s a dream come true for him to be able to perform what he’s done here throughout his entire career.”
