After flying to Argentina to watch his boyhood team play, Tottenham captain Cristian Romero pulls a spectacular U-turn and returns to England to watch his team’s relegation decider!

Cristian Romero, the captain of Tottenham, made a spectacular comeback to London ahead of the Premier League season’s last day.

Romero received harsh criticism in recent days for choosing to travel to Argentina to watch his childhood team, Belgrano, play River Plate in the Championship final on Sunday rather than attend Spurs’ crucial match against Everton.Born in Cordoba, Romero advanced through Belgrano’s youth divisions before departing for Genoa, Italy, in 2019.

Before Spurs’ match against London rivals Chelsea this week, the defender returned to Argentina after suffering a knee injury against Sunderland in April that would keep him out of action for the remainder of the season.

Due to their failure to earn a point at Stamford Bridge, West Ham’s performance against Leeds United and Sunday’s outcome against Everton will determine their Premier League fate.

Romero was spotted at Belgrano’s training facility on Friday. Their president had stated that the defender would watch Sunday’s final with the club’s delegation, and the Argentine was given permission to use their facilities as he accelerates his recuperation from injury in an effort to demonstrate his fitness for the World Cup.

But the 28-year-old was spotted back in London on Saturday afternoon, and it appears that he will miss Belgrano’s game in favor of attending the Everton match on Sunday.

Prior to Tottenham’s last Premier League match, Cristian Romero is back in London.

Romero was scheduled to see his childhood team, Belgrano, in their Championship final on Sunday rather than support Spurs against Everton. Romero was photographed in Argentina on Friday.

To relieve the burden he has been under, Romero posted a picture of himself getting a haircut in East Finchley with his son on his Instagram story.

When questioned about his journey to Argentina during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi declined to criticize his captain.

“Not every leader is the same all the time,” he remarked. Ben Davies asked to stay and work with us today after speaking with me. We spend the night in the hotel tomorrow.

He desired to remain with the group and his teammates. Despite an injury, Romero is getting ready for the World Cup. Nothing changed for me. Then, we must consider that everything is for Tottenham’s best future.

De Zerbi responded, “He spoke with the medical staff,” when asked how Romero was permitted to depart the nation before such an important match. They made the decision to travel to Argentina to finish their rehabilitation with Argentine medical professionals.Last week, we had a conversation. He has expressed his desire to remain with us. To be clear, I’m not a moron. I can’t be the same Roberto if I see that there is a player that prioritizes himself over the team. “I can’t say nothing with Romero.” He has been right from the start to the present with me.

He responded to supporters’ outrage by saying, “I completely understand.” I’m not sure. Cristian was a great player and a great guy to me. I say “top guy” because I know exactly what I’m seeing.

Roberto De Zerbi, the Spurs manager, acknowledged the wrath of the supporters but declined to criticize Romero.

A number of people, notably Spurs veteran Glenn Hoddle, harshly criticized Romero for his anticipated absence.

“What I’m hearing is unbelievable,” Hoddle yelled. The football team’s captain has traveled to Argentina to see a match that is allegedly more significant than Tottenham’s final game of the season, with the team in danger of losing.

He is the football team’s captain. It’s scandalous!I would tell him not to bother returning and drive him to the airport.

It encapsulates his self-centeredness. He can’t act that way and be a captain. If it’s true that he’s returning to watch a football game, then let him stay in Argentina and acquire as much money as you can for him. However, if it was for his family or something similar, that’s okay.
