After accepting to a rematch with Tyron Woodley on one condition, Jake Paul answers to Tommy Fury.
Jake Paul won a split decision over Tyron Woodley.
Despite a call from Tommy Fury, Jake Paul has stated that he will take some time off, but has revealed that if he has “I love Jake” tattooed on him, he will fight Tyron Woodley again. It comes after the YouTube sensation won a split decision over the former UFC welterweight champion in Ohio.
After acknowledging he could take a hiatus from boxing, Paul put an end to talk of a quick fight with Fury.
It comes after his split decision victory over Woodley, albeit the two agreed to a rematch on one strange stipulation.
With his victory over the former UFC welterweight champion, the YouTube star improved to 4-0, although it wasn’t as easy as it had been previously.
After a huge hook in the fourth put his opponent on the ropes, Woodley gave Paul his most tense moment in the ring to date, but the 39-year-old failed to capitalize.
He recomposed, however, and went on to put up a great show to keep his countryman from landing any more significant punches.
Paul finished with scores of 77-75, 75-77, and 78-74 in his hometown of Ohio.
Following his unimpressive win against Anthony Taylor earlier in the night, Fury chastised his opponent, saying, “It wasn’t my greatest effort.” But I’m improving, and I’m doing my best.
“Looking at that, Jake should have an easy night, no excuses, I want you next, you bum, let’s get this party started.”
However, Paul answered by implying that he may retire from the sport after his three-year tour, adding, “Honestly, we’ll see.” For the past 18 months, I’ve been boxing. In the last two years, I haven’t gone to the dentist and haven’t even had my hair cut.
“I have crooked teeth and a crooked nose. I’ve been working on this for the past 18 months.
“I haven’t stopped, but I think I need to take a breather and figure out who I am.
“I’m only 24 years old, yet I’m changing, growing, and learning a lot. I’m having ups and downs, and I’m making errors.”
However, Woodley was enraged by the outcome and claimed he should have won, prompting Paul to demand that the ex-UFC star get the phrase ‘I love Jake’ tattooed on his calf.
“I feel like if it was the second largest pay-per-view, then round two,” he said. Brinkwire Summary News
