After a heavyweight victory, Oleksandr Usyk returns Anthony Joshua’s belts.
On Saturday night, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua in a masterclass at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Footage has surfaced of Oleksandr Usyk handing back to Anthony Joshua the belts he won from the British fighter. On Saturday night, the Ukrainian heavyweight defeated AJ at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, prevailing by scores of 117-112, 116-112, and 115-113.
Usyk won four major belts as a result of his victory: the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO.
Following the fight, Usyk was seen delivering the belts back to Joshua in a footage uploaded on Twitter from the locker room, with the 34-year-old being sent new ones.
Due to a contractual clause in their contract, the two will fight again in the near future, with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn speculating that it might happen as early as February or March.
“See you soon,” AJ said as Usyk handed up the belts.
Joshua looks to be determined to overcome this new setback, stating that he will return to the gym right away to be in shape for his next bout.
“Congratulations to the winner,” he congratulated. “We’ll be back, so get ready to train again. It was a fantastic 12 rounds, as well as a fantastic ring experience.
“From here on out, we’ll move on once more. We’ll do it all over again shortly.
“I rarely look at my opponent; instead, I focus on myself and where I did wrong. So it’s not so much what he did that matters, but rather the possibilities I provided him.
“I’m going to look in the mirror and repair my mistakes.”
Meanwhile, Usyk stated: “The battle played out just how I had predicted.
“Anthony pushed me hard a number of times, but nothing out of the ordinary.
“Because my trainers, my corner, urged me not to, I had no intention of knocking him out.
“I punched him hard at first and tried to knock him out, but my trainer told me to stop and perform my job.”
The focus will now shift to the location of the rematch, with Usyk expressing a desire to fight in his home country of Ukraine.
Hearn, on the other hand, has questioned this wish, saying: “Ukraine is highly unlikely, therefore we’ll work together to maximize (the money).
“I believe it will be global.” Brinkwire Summary News “..
