After a goalie remark, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes a shot at Gary Neville.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the manager of Manchester United, has taken aim at a former Red Devils teammate.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a dig at club great Gary Neville when discussing his goalkeeper issue. From 1996 until 2007, the pair played together under Sir Alex Ferguson for 11 years.

Adidas and Manchester United have unveiled their official 2021/22 home jersey, which features a modern take on the club’s traditional designs.

Over the previous year, there has been a lot of discussion over Solskjaer’s goalkeeping team, with many accusing him of not knowing who his favourite option is.

Both Dean Henderson and David de Gea were expected to depart Old Trafford this summer in search of regular football, but both are still competing for first-team status at the club.

Despite the fact that Henderson was a regular at the end of last season, Solskjaer chose De Gea to play in the Europa League final.

The Spaniard failed to save any of Villarreal’s 11 penalties before missing his own, prompting widespread criticism of the Norwegian manager’s decision.

Solskjaer addressed his goalkeeper issue this season in an interview with the media before of Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Everton.

De Gea is expected to play, possibly sharing halves with Heaton while Henderson recovers from COVID-19.

“It depends on how they gel,” he remarked. It’s a healthy form of competitiveness. I don’t believe you get the best out of yourself if you’re too comfortable.

“You require a competitive advantage. However, it must be beneficial to the team. It’s not good if it’s poisonous and energy-draining.”

Given Henderson’s uncertain health, De Gea is expected to start United’s Premier League season against Leeds United.

Henderson, on the other hand, was Solskjaer’s number one at the end of last season and was expected to keep that position this season.

When told that Neville wanted to know who his first-choice goalkeeper was when he was playing, Solskjaer took a swing at the former right-back.

When he was playing, Solskjaer said, “I appreciated having one first-choice right-back, but I never had one.”

Once he’s recovered from the coronavirus, Henderson is anticipated to return to the sticks.

If De Gea performs well in his absence, Solksjaer may be tempted to continue with the indisputable Manchester United legend.

It’s a difficult issue, especially with Heaton on the verge of joining United, but it’s one that United can effectively resolve with sound decision-making.
