As he gets ready to return to Nottingham Forest following a loan stint at Besiktas, Jota Silva is looking for a new beginning in English to European football.
In 21 games across all competitions this season, the Portuguese attacker has scored four goals and provided an assist for the Istanbul team. However, he has only played 619 minutes in all competitions.
Last summer, Jota believed he had finalised a loan move to Sporting Lisbon, but the agreement fell through at the last minute.
According to Daily Mail Sport, the 26-year-old is considering other possibilities and would prefer not to return to Turkish football.
Despite not being a regular during the 2024–25 season, Jota was well-liked by both teammates and spectators after joining Forest in the summer of 2024. In 38 games, he scored five goals and provided three assists.
After a disappointing loan at Besiktas, Jota Silva may be able to reignite his career at Forest next season.
With concerns about Morgan Gibbs-White, Forest is getting ready for the second leg of its Europa League semi-final against Aston Villa.
After colliding with Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez during Forest’s 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, which put them at 42 points and within striking distance of Premier League safety, the playmaker suffered a serious facial wound.
Thanks to their 1-0 victory at the City Ground last Saturday, Forest will also go to the Europa League final if they avoid losing at Villa Park. Although heading the ball would undoubtedly be difficult with such little time to recover, manager Vitor Pereira is hoping for “a miracle” with Gibbs-White.
