Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove has completed a £2million move to Birmingham City.
The 24-year-old frontman, who joined the Dons in 2018, made 103 appearances for the Pittodrie side, scoring 47 goals along the way.
A Dons statement said : “Whilst the fee cannot be disclosed, it represents a significant deal for Aberdeen FC, and underlines our commitment to developing our young talented assets, further facilitating our continued investment in the first team and youth academy.”
and Times Sport understand the fee to be in the region of £2million and the Dons look set to bring in Fraser Hornby on loan from Stade de Reims before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes said: “We wish Sam well. He’s been a good servant to us, but we felt it was the right time for him to move on, on the back of the offer we received, and with eighteen months left on his contract.
“The improvement in Sam since he arrived is clear for all to see and I’ve no doubt he will go on and do well at Birmingham. We have benefited greatly from his goals and overall contribution to the team and we wish him all the best in the future.”
