With a Few New Wrinkles, Black Panther 2 is Back on Track.

Wakanda Forever, which will be released on November 11th, will resume filming next week after injuries and precautions.

After a two-month hiatus, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will resume filming next week.

The reason for the cancellation was that Shuri’s actress, Letitia Wright, was badly injured during a stunt and could no longer perform.

She’s now said to be in good health and ready to resume filming, which was set to begin last week.

Several cast and crew members, including Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, were caught with covid-19.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there are about four weeks left after the cameras start rolling, and we expect them to be Shuri-focused.

Following Wright’s injury last year, the crew continued to film everything she wasn’t a part of for a while.

However, once they’d completed that, and with the holidays approaching, the show went on hiatus for a while.

If the Shuri bits are the majority of what’s left, you can bet Wright will be front and center in Atlanta, GA, when writer/director Ryan Coogler calls “action” again.

While Wright’s injury was cited as the primary reason for the delay, many speculated that part of it could have been due to her anti-vaccination remarks at the time.

“While several sources say those issues have been resolved,” according to the Hollywood Reporter, “while not commenting on her vaccinated status.”

There’s also a new twist in the story involving co-star Winston Duke.

The actor who plays M’Baku, the leader of the Wakandan Jabari tribe, has reportedly “negotiated a hefty raise for his return to Black Panther, due to what is being described as an expanded role in the Panther mythos.” That’s certainly interesting because he and Wright are probably the two top candidates to take over the mantle of T’Challa after Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death.

We’ll find out later this year if M’Baku, Shuri, or someone else is the next Black Panther.

The release date for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been pushed back…
