Ready to feel old?
Today marks the 20th anniversary of Spotify, the music streaming service that revolutionised the world.
With over 100 million songs to choose from, Spotify has swiftly emerged as the preferred website for music listening since its founding in 2006.
Spotify has now disclosed the most streamed musicians, songs, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks in its history to commemorate the achievement.
“These lists capture the music and stories that didn’t just break through, but stayed, becoming part of everyday life around the world,” it said, drawing from years of listening across hundreds of millions of fans.
Taylor Swift surpasses Bad Bunny, Drake, and The Weeknd to become the most streamed artist.
But when it comes to the songs that get streamed the most, The Weeknd is at the top.
Blinding Lights, his 2020 smash, has received more Spotify streams than Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.”
The most streamed musicians, songs, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks in Spotify’s history have been disclosed.
Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” is not as popular on Spotify as The Weeknd’s 2020 hit, “Blinding Lights.”
Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon established Spotify on April 23, 2006, and it went public in 2008.
Podcasts were added in 2015, and seven years later, in 2022, it entered the audiobook industry.
More than 100 million songs, seven million podcast titles, and 500,000 audiobooks are available to subscribers now.
“With 751 million users, including 290 million subscribers, in 184 markets, we are the most popular audio streaming subscription service in the world,” Spotify states on its website.

The most streamed artists of all time include Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Drake, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and Ed Sheeran.
Eminem, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Billie Eilish complete the top ten.

Gemischtes Hack, Crime Junkie, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, and Last program On The Left are all surpassed by this incredibly popular program.
Lastly, Sarah J. Maas is the best in the audiobook genre.

Many users were surprised to learn that Spotify is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
A number of confused admirers have come to X to talk about the accomplishment.
The Joe Rogan Experience is the best podcast available. Gemischtes Hack, Crime Junkie, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, and Last program On The Left are all surpassed in popularity by this program. Twenty years? One person questioned, “Didn’t it start around 2011–2012?”
“20 years, wow,” said another. I returned to this app in 2023, having first used it in 2016. What a journey.
“Happy 20th Spotify,” someone joked.
“I appreciate that you are more familiar with my personality than my therapist.”
