Microsoft’s Surface Go 3 Is Getting a Sleek New Paint Job and LTE Support.

A Core i3 CPU and LTE connectivity are rumored for the Graphite version.

When Microsoft revamped its PC portfolio last year, the Surface Laptop Studio and Surface Pro 8 stole the show from the Surface Go 3, but there’s now another reason to check out the small convertible tablet.

Aggiornamenti Lumia, a leaker, shared images on Twitter of the 10.5-inch Surface Go 3 in a new matte black finish, similar to the Surface Laptop 4’s color option.

These appear to be promotional images, implying that the matte black version will be released soon, and the device is already available for pre-order on Amazon Germany, with a January 11 release date.

I’ve contacted Microsoft to confirm the addition of a matte black color option, and I’ll update this article once I receive a response.

According to these leaks, the Surface Go 3 will come with an Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and LTE connectivity. The inclusion of LTE connectivity is interesting because the Surface Go 3 didn’t come with it when it launched last October, though Microsoft has since added an LTE version to its website, a sold-out (dollar)729 config only available with a Core i3.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft soon adds “Graphite,” the Surface Pro 8’s secondary color, to its online configuration tool for the Surface Go 3.

It’s nice to see Microsoft add more color options to its budget devices, especially the Go 3, which is designed to be a travel companion as well as a home office computer.

The stealthy matte black color option on the Surface Laptop 4 looks better to me than the standard Platinum. It may not stand out as much as some of the striking hues available on the Surface Laptop 4, but it does stand out more than some of the striking hues available on the Surface Laptop 4.

However, repainting the Surface Go 3 won’t fix some of the issues we had with it, such as its poor battery life and mediocre performance.

“A worthy secondary computer for those who have…,” we wrote in our mixed review of the Surface Go 3.
