At the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Release Ceremony at the White House, Donald Trump thanked health care staff and advocated Covid vaccines.

“We give thanks for the vaccines and treatments that will soon end the pandemic.”

The White House was presented by the National Turkey Federation with two birds, the Corn and the Cob. The national Thanksgiving turkey has been declared to be corn, but both will move to a new home on the campus of Iowa State University.

“Look at this beautiful, beautiful bird. Oh, so lucky. That’s a lucky bird. Corn, I hereby give you a full pardon. Thank you, Corn. What a bird. Thank you.”

He said, “Happy Thanksgiving to all. Thank you guys so much. Thank you all so much. Have a good one.”

As he addressed more than 100 staffers and visitors in the Rose Garden, the vast majority of whom wore masks, Trump took no questions from reporters.
