Zoe Ball has disclosed that she was not selected to host Strictly Come Dancing.
Many celebrities have been suggested for the position since Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their resignations.
Additionally, host Zoe, who formerly presented It Takes Two, a spin-off of Strictly, has said that she “didn’t get” the job and is “working through the seven stages of grief and rejection.”
Zoe reiterated that the BBC made the “right decision” despite losing out on the opportunity, saying she is “thrilled” for those who were hired.
In an interview with Jo Whiley for her Dig It podcast, Zoe stated, “I didn’t get it, but it’s OK.”
“I have worked through the seven stages of grief and rejection over the last couple of days,” she said. “No, I didn’t get it.” However, if [it’s] the person I believe has it, we’re in good hands, and our new hosts will be amazing. I’m overjoyed for them, and maybe we’ll be able to discuss them in greater detail later.
On the Dig It podcast, Zoe Ball disclosed that she was not hired for the Strictly Come Dancing position.
Late last year, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman resigned from their Saturday night positions.
“I was so chuffed to even be in the mix,” the 55-year-old continued. I made it into the mix, and I had a great time doing one last small play at a concert that I love and enjoy. There were some really incredible folks who didn’t even make it. “I think so many eyes have been on this whole process, and everyone is quite relieved now that a decision has been made and the right decision has been made,” I said, expressing my excitement for the group that has succeeded.
The Sun claims that after being turned down for the Strictly position, Zoe wasn’t the only celebrity to cry.
“The television industry is cutthroat,” according to a source. The BBC had their choices from the beginning, but they were aware that they couldn’t just force anyone in; it had to come down to the chemistry tests. The celebrities were paired up in a mix-and-match fashion. “Those who weren’t offered the job simply weren’t the right fit.” “Some have taken it better than others.” One well-known celebrity who was tipped from the start has been crying over it since they thought the job was theirs. They sincerely believed they had the best opportunity, but it didn’t work when it came to how it appeared on film. Unfortunately, no amount of soggy Kleenexes will alter the decision because that is the essence of the industry.
Emma Willis is supposedly going to be revealed as one of the new hosts.
The BBC executives saw Emma, 50, as a “safe pair of hands” after she performed well in the chemistry exams.
“Emma has been offered the Strictly job and is going to accept,” a source stated. The BBC adores her since she did a fantastic job on the chemistry examinations.
“The BBC knows Emma will do the job justice because she is a household name and a safe pair of hands. She is also very popular with the public and will fit the role perfectly.” She was overjoyed to receive the employment offer.
According to the former host of It Takes Two, she is “working through the seven stages of grief and rejection.”
Zoe stated that she is “thrilled” for the individuals who were cast and that the BBC made the “right decision” despite missing out on the Saturday night performance; host Emma Willis was pictured.
“Strictly is one of the biggest shows on television and to be trusted with the new era is something Emma feels incredibly proud and humbled by,” the insider added to The Sun.
“Plans for Strictly Come Dancing 2026 will be confirmed in due course,” a BBC representative told the Daily Mail last night.
Emma has presented on The Voice UK, Big Brother, The Circle, and Love Is Blind: UK, which she co-hosts with her spouse, Matt.
Rylan Clark, Alison Hammond, and Alex Jones are just a few of the names that have been floated to take over in recent months.
Nine shortlisted artists were recently called to a top-secret venue in London to compete in full-scale dress rehearsals with a judging panel and live band, following weeks of rumours and the rejection of several big names.
In order to keep the tryouts secret, BBC executives made the celebrities sign stringent NDAs. They anticipate making an announcement shortly.
Rylan, Emma, Tom Allen, and Alex were among those that were verified to be in the callbacks.

The “glitz and glamour had started to wear off” for her and co-host Tess, according to a recent hint from Claudia.
Together with Tess, 57, who hosted for 21 years, the 54-year-old BBC presenter left the popular BBC competition last year after 13 years.
She said, “It’s not that I wasn’t excited at the end, but both of us were a bit like, Oh yeah cool,” in response to Closer magazine’s question on if the glitz and glamour had begun to wear off for them both. Okay, then I’ll do it.”
