Zhongguancun Forum to gather renowned scientists and entrepreneurs

The 2020 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) will take place in Beijing from Sept. 17 to 20. According to the forum’s organizing committee, the event will include an opening ceremony, three pioneer forums, 21 parallel forums, and two professional forums, covering topics such as global innovation cooperation, life and health, as well as artificial intelligence, innovation ecology, and youth entrepreneurship.

The 2020 ZGC Forum opening ceremony, to be held on Sept. 17, will be attended by several Nobel Prize-winning scientists, academicians, and famous entrepreneurs from various fields, including Sir Gregory P. Winter, winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and former Master of Trinity College, Cambridge University; Jean-Eric Paquet, director of the EU Directorate-General for Research and Innovation; Gong Ke, president of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations; Robin Li, founder, chairman, and CEO of Baidu; and Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi.

During the main forum, parallel events encompassing different topics will be held. On the afternoon of Sept. 17, the Third China-Europe Talent Forum, Sino-Russian Science and Technology Innovation Forum, China Nordic Sustainable Development and Innovation Forum, Forum on Integrated Development of Science, Technology and Economy, and The Belt and Road Initiative Scientific and Technological Park Forum will be held simultaneously. The Third UNESCO Creative Cities Beijing Summit, which will span two days, will be home to the opening ceremony and main forum on the afternoon of Sept. 17.

On the morning of Sept. 18, four forums, namely, the Industrial Internet Forum, Artificial Intelligence Open Source and Productivity Promotion Forum, AI Open Source Innovation and Industrial Intelligence Forum, Big Data in Global Health and Medicine-Big Data Is Leading Us to a Healthier Tomorrow, will also be held simultaneously. The Global Science and Life Health Forum and Heads of Global Scientific Institutions Forum will take place throughout the day.

On the afternoon of Sept. 18, the 2020 China S&T Investment Summit, Future Intelligent Edge Computing Parallel Forum, Intelligence & Transport Forum, and China-Russian Youth Entrepreneurship Summit will be held.

Meanwhile, on the morning of Sept. 19, the Fintech Parallel Forum, Global Science and Technology Youth Forum, Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Think Tank Forum, Intellectual Property Forum, and Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Urban Sustainable Development will be held simultaneously.

According to the forum’s organizing committee, this year’s ZGC Forum will cover all sectors of the innovation chain, from science and technology to products and markets. It is expected that the forum will lead innovation development in several wider fields and later applied on a larger scope.
