Australian stylists are rushing to buy a $25 ‘balloon sleeved’ cardigan from discount department store Big W that’s currently marked down to just $10.
Shoppers have already snapped up the ‘Ribbed Button Front Cardigan’ in small and extra large, but its still in stock in sizes extra small, medium and large on Big W’s website.
Perth fashion blogger Louisa Sabrina said she was ‘impressed with the quality’ and also praised its remarkable value for money.
‘I’m obsessed with anything balloon sleeved at the moment and this $25 cardi (sic) is no exception,’ she wrote beside an Instagram photo of her wearing the piece on Saturday.
The image elicited comments like ‘love this so much!’ and ‘how cute is this cardigan’, with one woman saying the rusted orange colour looked ‘stunning’.
The cotton and nylon knit is no longer available in orange but it’s still available in trendy chocolate brown, widely regarded as the shade of the season.
Big W’s fashion-forward bargain follows an equally stylish $20 cropped cardigan from Kmart that captivated customers earlier in this month.
Hailed as ‘the perfect winter accessory’, influencers showcased its versatility on Instagram by layering the knit over Zara’s best-selling $29.95 bodysuit for a chic evening look and flowing midi-dresses for a casual daytime ensemble.
Melbourne mum-to-be Jess Dakota said she is ‘still obsessing’ about the affordable knit that’s ‘so easy to style and wear’ over her blossoming baby bump.
Canberra style blogger ‘This is Genevieve’ paired the cardigan with white high-waisted jeans and said she bought a size bigger than normal for a loose, over-sized fit.
‘The material looks great. Might have to go searching for it,’ one follower replied.
Another said: ‘You make this look so good!’
Sydney influencer Angel Perez, who posts under the handle ‘Styling Mum and Bub’, built three looks around the cardigan, styling the first with espadrilles and dark wash jeans and the second with a slinky silk maxi-dress and point-toe heels.
