WIMBLEDON winner Simona Halep follows only two people on Twitter – including British snooker ace Mark Selby.
Halep stormed past the legendary Serena Williams with ease in the Women’s Wimbledon final this afternoon.
The star, 27, won 6-2 6-2 to become the first ever Romanian to win a singles title at the All England Club.
She has now rocketed into the limelight, already commanding 293,000 followers on Twitter.
But surprisingly, she only follows two people in return.
And one of them is British star Selby, a former world number one.
“Well, I had nerves, my stomach was not very well before the match, but I knew there was to time for emotions”
After winning the title, a jubilant Halep said: “It was the best match and of course Serena always inspired us so thank you for that.”
She added: “Well, I had nerves, my stomach was not very well before the match, but I knew there was to time for emotions.
“I just came on court and I gave my best.
“It’s something very special and I will never forget this day because it was my mom’s dream.
“When I was about 10, 12, she said that if I want to do something in tennis.
“I have to play the final of Wimbledon so the day came, so to my mom, thanks. Thanks to my parents actually.”
Tomorrow, Roger Federer will play Novak Djokovic in the Men’s final.
It comes after Federer beat arch rival Rafael Nadal in a sensational semi-final.
