‘Will transform the world!’ say royal enthusiasts of Prince William’s environmental effort.
After revealing the sponsors for his latest environmental initiative, PRINCE WILLIAM was praised by Royal admirers.
On Wednesday, the Duke of Cambridge announced that 14 brands will support and financially sponsor the Earthshot Prize finalists.
Arup, Bloomberg L.P., Deloitte, Herbert Smith Freehills, Hitachi, Ingka Group (IKEA), Microsoft, The Multichoice Group, Natura & Co, Safaricom, Salesforce, Unilever, Vodacom, and Walmart are among the 14 sponsors of the Global Alliance.
The corporations collectively employ 3.6 million people on five continents.
The Prince established the Earthshot Prize to “incentivize change and assist in the rehabilitation of our planet during the next ten years.”
“The Earth is at a tipping point, and we confront a clear choice: either we continue as we are and irrevocably harm our world, or we recall our unique power as human beings and our never-ending ability to lead, invent, and solve problems,” William said in a statement.
“People are capable of great things.
“The next ten years will be one of our most difficult challenges — a decade of action to heal the planet.”
Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate are the five areas that the prize is based on.
The first five winners will be announced at the Alexandra Palace in London on October 17th.
The winners will receive a £1 million award to work on ideas that promote a more sustainable future.
The winners will receive assistance and support from the 14 companies in addition to the award money.
According to a press release, the 15 finalists will receive “manufacturing, retail, supply chains, legal counsel, digital technology, corporate strategy, and government relations.”
“These companies are well-positioned to help innovators around the world, with offices in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Instagram feed shared a post promoting the Earthshot Prize on International Youth Day.
The caption stated, “Every day, young people inspire us via their resourcefulness to bring about change and their ability to promote collective action.”
“That is why, on #InternationalYouthDay, we highlight young people’s drive and passion to help tackle the world’s largest environmental challenges through #GenerationEarthshot.”
Royal supporters were ready to express their admiration.
“Wonderful initiative!” says one participant. According to one Instagram user.
“You’re doing a fantastic job. Another person said, “The world is proud of you.”
