NHS Test and Trace has contacted BORIS JOHNSON and Rishi Sunak after Sajid Javid tested positive for COVID-19, but they will not be self-isolated, Downing Street stated today. So, what is this daily contact testing pilot they’re a part of, and why are they doing it?
NHS Test and Trace has ‘pinged’ the Prime Minister and the Chancellor as a contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid, Downing Street said this morning. On Friday, Boris Johnson had a long meeting with Mr Javid at No 10, where the Health Secretary was seen looking “worse for wear.”
Despite the fact that they should need to self-isolate for 10 days, both will continue to work from No 10.
Instead, they’ll participate in a daily contact testing program, which will allow him to continue working from Downing Street.
“They will only be undertaking vital government activity during this period,” a representative for No 10 said.
