In an attempt to contact the man who discovered his backpack, the family of an Arizona State University student who disappeared from the Grand Canyon just one week before he was scheduled to receive his master’s degree is begging for assistance.
According to Fox News, Sandrash Krishna, 26, informed family members on April 27 that he intended to make a stop at the South Rim of Grand Canyon on his route to Las Vegas. However, he intended to return in time for his final exams and graduation on May 9.
Sadly, he hasn’t been heard from since, leaving family members frantically trying to find out.
Based on mobile tower data that indicates Krishna’s last known position was between Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point on the day of his disappearance, his family has made many trips to the South Rim during the past week.
Since then, Krishna’s family has been searching the area “two to three times already, looking for him,” according to his sister-in-law Pooja Shivananjappa, who spoke to AZFamily. “We obviously don’t want to give up, so we have taken our binoculars, we have walked the trail, we have done our own research.”
Since his brother, Adarsh Krishna, stated that they “don’t want to believe he’s hurt” and that they still have hope “that he’s somewhere out there, but again, we need proper closure,” the family has even hired their own private investigator to assist in finding Krishna. Adarsh told KPNX, “We don’t know exactly what happened to him,” but his brother is “not the kind of kid who would hurt himself.”
The 26-year-old Sandrash Krishna went missing on April 27 after telling his family he was going to the Grand Canyon before travelling to Las Vegas.
Krishna stated that he intended to return in time for a job interview, final examinations, and his graduation from Arizona State University on May 9.
Krishna’s sister-in-law, Pooja Shivananjappa, explained that relatives have already made at least two trips to the Grand Canyon in search of him.
In order to obtain a master’s degree in computer science at Arizona State University, Krishna relocated from India to Arizona in 2024.
He is intelligent, compassionate, and very focused on his family, according to his loved ones. “He has a helping hand,” Shivananjappa added. “He has a child’s heart, as I mentioned, and we really miss him.”
A kind Samaritan who delivered Krishna’s rucksack to the Bright Angel Lodge lost and found at around seven in the morning on April 27 is now being sought for by family members and park officials.
Authorities emphasise that they do not think the man is a suspect in Krishna’s disappearance, despite the fact that he did not give his name or specify where he found the backpack.
“This is the whole reason why we are calling, and we are reaching out to everybody to find the person who returned the backpack,” stated Shivananjappa. Instead, authorities are hoping to speak with him to learn more about how and where he found the backpack in the hopes that he could give them more information about what preceded Krishna’s disappearance.
As of right now, this is a key piece of proof. We can concentrate on searching that particular area if we can determine the backpack’s precise location.
This man, a good Samaritan who turned Krishna’s backpack into a lost and found, is being sought after by authorities and family members.
In an effort to locate Krishna, some thirty search and rescue professionals have been sent to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Over 30 search and rescue professionals have been deployed over the previous few days as search activities have intensified throughout the South Rim.
According to park officials, crews are searching for Krishna using a variety of methods, such as drone operations, aerial reconnaissance flights, tricky rope insertions, walk-down routes into the canyon, and trail scans.
Particularly, rangers are concentrating on a section of Hermit Road.
When Krishna was last seen, he was dressed in black and white Jordans, a white hoodie and black trousers.
He weighs about 160 pounds, stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, has black hair, and brown eyes.
When he vanished, he might have been utilising a ridesharing or taxi service.
