A West Australian police officer has been stood down after he was charged with assaulting a man at a hospital while on duty in the state’s southwest.
The 32-year-old senior constable has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to the incident at Bunbury Hospital on April 14.
It’s alleged the 28-year-old victim had been involved in a crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor hand injuries.
The officer has been stood aside from operational duty, WA Police said in a statement.
He will face Bunbury Magistrates Court on Thursday.
