VIDEO: Barack Obama is captured without a mask at his’scaled-back’ 60th birthday bash.
BARACK OBAMA stirred fury after a video of him dancing without a mask at his “scaled back” 60th birthday party surfaced.
As the Covid Delta strain spreads across the US, the former US President has been chastised for not donning a mask at his 400-person birthday party on Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday. Barack Obama posed and danced with friends without any coronavirus limitations in an Instagram video posted by American singer-songwriter Erykah Badu. Mr. Obama earlier stated that the Democratic Party would be “scaled-back.”
Images of Mr Obama’s campaign staff wearing face masks sparked a fierce backlash on Twitter.
“If Obama can invite hundreds of unmasked guests to his birthday party, then regular people shouldn’t have to wear masks either,” one person said.
“I didn’t notice anyone wearing masks at Obama’s $12 million estate on Martha’s Vineyard’s super big birthday party!” said another.
“I’m not mad that Obama had a party,” a third individual said. I’m enraged that they are exempt from the rules.”
Annie Karni of the New York Times supported President Obama’s party, claiming it was a low-risk event.
“This has been overblown,” she said CNN, “they’re following all the safety protocols, people go to athletic events that are bigger than this, this is going to be safe, this is a sophisticated, vaccinated crowd, and this is just about optics, not about safety.”
The party, which had a guest list of nearly 500 individuals, was “reduced back” because to concerns about the delta variant’s spread.
The guests were all to be checked for the coronavirus and told that they needed to be completely vaccinated before going.
COVID-19 instances will rise before they fall, according to US President Joe Biden, and the new Delta form is causing an unnecessary burden on the government.
In a White House speech, Biden warned, “Cases are going to go up before they come back down.”
“This is an unvaccinated pandemic.”
Scientists from Public Health England (PHE) said on Friday that there are early indicators that persons who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 may be able to spread the Delta strain of the virus as easily as those who have not.
The findings are consistent with those of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which voiced worries last week that vaccinated persons may be at risk. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
