Valentin Lazar, 21, pleads GUILTY to the murder of Maria Rawlings, a 45-year-old woman discovered dead in a thicket in Romford.
A MAN pleaded guilty today to the murder of a mother who was discovered dead in a bush earlier this year.
In May, Valentin Lazar, 21, acknowledged strangling and suffocating Maria Jane Rawlings, 45, in Romford, East London.
At the Old Bailey today, Lazar, of Barking, pleaded guilty to the death of his mother.
On May 4, a dog walker discovered Grandmother Maria in the bushes outside of a school, triggering a murder inquiry.
Her family placed flowers near the bush, along with a message that read, “Mummy. I love you now, and I will always love you. You made things better in this s*** world.
“Always and forever, my angel.” “You have a huge baby.” “Nanny, we love you so much, we will never forget you,” her grandsons wrote in a statement. “It’s your boys.” Maria’s death was ruled as a result of neck compression and suspected blunt force head injuries during a post-mortem investigation at Walthamstow Mortuary on Wednesday.
Maria had gone to the King George Hospital in Goodmayes, Ilford, on Monday evening, according to police.
She then set out on foot in the direction of the A12 on Barley Lane.
There will be more to come…
