Under Solskjaer’s push, Glazers direct Man Utd staff to speed up Zidane discussions.

The Glazer family has requested that Manchester United’s pursuit of Zinedine Zidane be intensified as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future hangs in the balance.

Following Manchester United’s traumatic 4-1 defeat to Watford, the Glazer family is said to have instructed club officials to push through attempts to bring in Zinedine Zidane.

They also appear to have requested an emergency board meeting to consider the removal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager, who is under immense pressure.

According to the Sunday Times, a virtual conference will be held at 7 p.m. ‘with Solskjaer’s compensation terms on the agenda,’ as the Glazers demonstrate their desire to sign Zidane by offering him a higher salary.

United’s pursuit of Zidane was revealed by the same publication last week. The former Real Madrid coach is said to be interested in returning to the Old Trafford dugout, where he would be able to work with Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane, but the 49-year-old had hoped to remain jobless until the summer.

Solskjaer, 48, has now won just four games in 13 since the defeat at Vicarage Road, and his plight has been exacerbated by bad performances against Manchester City and Liverpool, where his side lost 2-0 and 5-0, respectively.

Solskjaer signed a new contract in August and would be paid a one-season compensation fee if manager was fired early. After the loss, David De Gea commented, “It was embarrassing to see Man United play like we did today.” Will Zinedine Zidane succeed at Manchester United? Let us know what you think in the comments area.

“The manner we were playing and doing things was not appropriate.” It’s simple to point the finger at the manager or the coaching staff, but the players are sometimes to blame. We must demonstrate far more than we now do.

“We’re doing our best to give it our all and fight for the squad, but something is definitely wrong.” You can see that in the games: it’s at a very low level, and it’s pretty bad. Once again, my apologies to the fans.”
