After reportedly smashing a car into a house in southeast Melbourne and repeatedly stabbing a woman, a knife-wielding guy is still at large.
The “potentially armed” person may also be behind another alleged stabbing that occurred in Melbourne’s north hours earlier, police cautioned.
In the second incident, a man allegedly crashed a stolen car into a brick home on Exner Street in Dandenong North at around 10.15 a.m. on Sunday while a woman in her 30s and her mother were inside.
The man was sitting in the driver’s seat of the silver Honda CRV when neighbors hurried outside after hearing the incident. “I went over to check if he was okay, then he just got out of the car and went inside,” one woman told the Herald Sun.
The woman was allegedly stabbed by the man, and shortly afterward, she left the scene covered in blood from several upper body wounds. The neighbor remarked, “She left with a knife in her other hand while holding her side.”
After reportedly smashing a car into his sister’s house in southeast Melbourne, a knife-wielding man is at large.
The man allegedly went inside and repeatedly attacked his sister, according to the police.
After then, they claimed, the suspected stabber “walked outside and walked down the road.” He didn’t even sprint.
Until paramedics arrived, the woman’s blood was stopped by neighbors.
While police set up a crime scene, the injured woman was transported to Dandenong Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It is acknowledged that the mother of the woman was unharmed.
The incident, according to police, is connected to another alleged stabbing that happened three hours prior at a home in the northern Melbourne neighbourhood of Epping.
A forty-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries was sent to the hospital.
Both incidents, according to the police, were targeted, and the victims knew the suspect.
The accused assailant is still at large.Inspector Graham Higginbotham of the Southern Metro Region affirmed that police are aware of the subject, who is described as having an African appearance.
The Dandenong North residence has been sealed off, and police have set up a crime scene there. “We are aware of the male’s identity and are in the process of looking for this male,” he told reporters.
“We don’t know if the offender is armed in any way, but we are treating that person as potentially being armed,” Inspector Higginbotham said, urging the community to exercise caution.
The suspect may still be armed and was last spotted wearing black jeans and a brown shirt.
Authorities have advised people to phone triple-0 right away if they see the man instead of approaching him.
Police ask anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage or who witnessed either event to get in touch with Crime Stoppers.
