Traditional voters are turned off by Labour’s ‘wokeness,’ according to OLIVER DOWDEN.
Because of Labour’s “woke hostility,” voters have moved to the Conservatives, according to Oliver Dowden.
The opposition had “woken racing through it like a piece of Brighton rock,” the Tory party chairman declared in a blistering conference attack. “Previous generations of Labour leaders, activists, and voters would be appalled at what Labour has become,” he continued. Mr Dowden informed the party that his trade unionist grandfather Harry was a “true Labour man” but that he no longer supported the party in its current form.
“If you want to know why Labour lost the last general election so badly, it’s because so many of Harry Dowden’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren believe Labour has abandoned them,” he continued.
He said the Conservatives, on the other hand, were “moderate, pragmatic, and open” and were “getting on with the work” in government.
