Town Center ‘lockdown’ — Shoppers in Aurora, Colorado, are horrified as armed police arrive on the scene.

On Friday, shoppers at a mall in Aurora, Colorado, were horrified as armed police raced to the scene.

At 6.35 p.m., Aurora police confirmed that they were investigating a shooting at The Town Center.

“Officers are investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot by Dillard’s @TCAurora,” police said in a tweet.

“Prior to the arrival of officers, all people engaged in the incident had departed the scene.”

No casualties were found, according to authorities, and “many shot casings were found on location.”

A section of the mall’s parking lot was cordoned off to allow CSI to process the scene about 10 minutes later, according to police.

“No suspect information is available, and details are restricted,” police said.

“Anyone with information is encouraged to contact @CrimeStoppersCO.”

A Twitter user claimed she spotted law enforcement heading to the mall minutes before police confirmed the shooting.

“Can anyone tell me why Aurora cops are at Macy’s?” she tweeted.

The guns are pulled. Was there a lockdown? Isn’t it 15 minutes since it was released? “There is a significant police presence.” Other Twitter users wondered what was going on in the mall, with one asking, “What is going on at the Aurora Mall?” There will be more to come…
