Three members of the royal family have tested positive for Covid this month.
COVID cases have risen worldwide in recent months as a result of the new Omicron variant, and several European royals have tested positive in 2022.
So, since the pandemic began, which royals have tested positive for Covid?
Over the last two years, members of the British Royal Family, including Prince Charles and Princess Anne’s husband Sir Timothy Laurence, have tested positive for coronavirus.
The virus has also infected other royal families across Europe.
Three European royals tested positive for COVID-19 in January 2022 alone.
Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia had tested positive for the virus, according to a statement from the palace released on Tuesday.
“The King and Queen, who have been fully vaccinated with three injections, have mild symptoms and are feeling well, given the circumstances,” the statement said.
Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg was also found to be infected with the virus earlier this month.
According to Royal Central, the Grand Ducal Court stated that the Grand Duke is suffering from mild symptoms and that he will continue to serve as Head of State while in isolation.
Several royals from across Europe have tested positive for coronavirus during the pandemic.
Prince Albert, Monaco’s Sovereign Prince, tested positive for COVID-19 in March 2020.
“My symptoms are flu-like, but it feels like a fairly mild case,” he said at the time to People magazine.
In the same month, Prince Charles, Britain’s heir apparent, tested positive for the virus.
Charles was quarantined at his Scottish home of Birkhall, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, was found to be virus-free.
In November 2020, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden tested positive for COVID-19.
In December 2020, Prince Christian of Denmark, the son of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, tested positive for COVID-19.
In March 2021, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband Prince Daniel, the son of King Carl XVI Gustaf, tested positive for COVID-19.
In August 2021, Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway tested positive for coronavirus.
Princess Beatrix, the former Dutch Queen, tested positive for the virus in December 2021.
“Princess Beatrix has been tested in connection with mild cold complaints,” according to a statement from the Netherlands’ Government Information Service (RVD).
“The Princess lives alone at home and follows the guidelines for people who have tested positive.”
Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Philip’s husband, was also put to the test.
