‘This reminds me of China!’ As President Biden cozies up to the EU, a Fox News presenter attacks Germany.
Laura Ingraham of Fox News has lambasted Germany for cracking down on anti-lockdown protests earlier this week.
Laura Ingraham, a Fox News host, compared Germany’s onslaught on anti-lockdown activists in Berlin this week to the Chinese government’s conduct. On Sunday, German police broke up protests against Angela Merkel’s Covid regulations, prompting Ingraham to draw parallels with China and Hong Kong. Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo joined the Fox News presenter to debate President Joe Biden’s calls for a European-style lockdown.
“They are now barred from even criticizing Covid dictates in Germany,” Ingraham told Fox News.
“Despite this, tens of thousands of people gathered in Berlin to express their dissatisfaction.
“This is how they were met,” she said, before citing from the Guardian: “‘After the participants failed to obey orders to follow hygiene guidelines, police deployed pepper spray and truncheons to break up the crowds.’”
“600 people have been detained, which sounds like China and Hong Kong.”
“There’s scant evidence that these kinds of lockdowns do a whole lot of good, and we know they’re doing an awful amount of damage to the economy and the mental health of the people who live there,” Fox News contributor Pompeo stated.
“It irritates me when I see Democratic governors and even Democrats in Washington, D.C., who want to go down that road, who want to go back to lockdowns, to the kind of things we tried to stem the spread – right, it was 15 days?
“The correct response was to provide individuals with good, sound, and accurate information.
“Leave it up to them to make their own choices.”
It comes after a 49-year-old protestor died after being imprisoned in Berlin, prompting one senior MEP to claim that the EU is beginning to resemble a “concentration camp.”
“The death of a person who protested for freedom and liberty in the custody of German police is more proof that, far from being a zone of liberty, the EU is fast becoming a concentration camp run by bureaucrats who, in fact, disregard fundamental human rights and freedoms,” Romanian MEP Cristian Terhes told This website.
Authorities in Germany have initiated an investigation into the man’s death, which occurred after the demonstrations on Sunday.
“The EU is fantastic at pointing the finger at foreign regimes that violate human rights, but its hostility to.”Brinkwire Summary News,” Mr Terhes noted.
