The visit of David Attenborough disturbed Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

PRINCE GEORGE and Princess Charlotte were “very upset” over a visit by David Attenborough, according to an unearthed video.

Sir David Attenborough, 95, has teamed up with Prince William, 39, for the Duke of Cambridge’s Earthshot Prize. The broadcaster and naturalist is on the Earthshot Prize Council, alongside singer Shakira and footballer Dani Alves. The first awards of the prize, launched by William and the Royal Foundation last year, will be doled out a ceremony hosted by Clara Amfo and Dermot O’Leary at Alexandra Palace in London on Sunday.

The environmental prize is to recognise innovative solutions to climate change from around the world.

Sunday’s star-studded event will feature musical performances from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Coldplay.

The winners will be awarded in five different categories and will each win £1million to help develop their ideas.

William’s wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, will present an award, alongside celebrities including Emma Thompson and Emma Watson.

The BBC has produced a five-part documentary series to coincide with the prize, with a new episode on BBC One tonight.

The latest instalment looks at how to stop damaging the oceans and the ways they can be revived.

William and Kate have met Sir David before as the royal couple attended the naming ceremony of a boat unveiled in his honour in 2019.

The polar research vessel’s name had been put to a vote by the public, who opted to christen it ‘Boaty McBoatface’.

However, the choice was deemed inappropriate, and the decision was made to call it the RRS Sir David Attenborough instead.

William and Kate appeared with the vessel’s namesake as it was displayed to the public at Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead, Merseyside.

As the Cambridges toured the ship with Sir David, Kate admitted that their children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George were disappointed about not being part of the visit.

She said: “The children are very upset that we were coming to see you and they weren’t coming, they’re massive fans of yours.

William added: “They are absolutely fascinated by the programmes.

“I’ve got them into the African ones, but they love all the programmes.”

Sir David replied: “Do they, do they really?”

The encounter was captured for the 2020 ITV documentary, ‘Prince William: A Planet for Us All’.

George and Charlotte eventually got to meet Sir David as he visited the royals at Kensington Palace. “Brinkwire Summary News”.
