The Sussexes had a MAJOR impact on Royal Family revenue, thanks to Harry and Meghan.
MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry may not be working members of the Royal Family any longer, but their brief stay on British soil did not prevent them from assisting the royal household in raising a large sum of money.
Despite the fact that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry currently live in Los Angeles, a new study found that their stay in the UK following their wedding gave the Royal Family a major boost. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s brief stay in Frogmore Cottage, directly across from Frogmore House, was the most popular royal fan destination in 2019 and 2020.
According to Statista, from April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex lived in Frogmore Cottage, and the neighboring Frogmore House and Windsor Castle were the most popular Royal Estates to visit.
In 2018/19, revenue from ticket admissions to the Royal Estate topped £48 million, with over £21 million in retail sales.
Frogmore Cottage is located directly across the street from Frogmore House, one of Windsor’s most opulent residences, and a little portion of the original Sussex cottage can be seen from the house.
In 2019, the couple relocated into Frogmore Cottage just weeks before the birth of their son, Archie.
The couple commissioned a comprehensive refurbishment of the property, which is said to have cost almost £2 million.
The renovations were managed by the Duchess of Sussex herself with the help of interior designer Vicky Charles, and the house allegedly features five bedrooms and a nursery.
The cottage backs on to the massive Home Park, which spans 655 acres of beautiful gardens.
The estate is only open to the public for six days a year, and even then, much of the royal grounds are off-limits.
The grounds, which are not far from the Berkshire town center, are filled of massive trees, lakes, and gorgeous flowers.
It is distinct from Windsor Great Park, which is part of Windsor Castle’s grounds.
However, Frogmore Cottage is only a short walk from Frogmore Castle, where the Queen frequently stays.
Following their departure from royal life in March 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex eventually left the property.
Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, resides in California, so the family moved there first.
The residence was intended to serve as a UK outpost for the couple if they ever returned to the UK. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
