The ‘supernatural’ retinol face oil with a cult following that includes supermodel Georgia Fowler

A face oil that contains a natural version of retinol, otherwise known as vitamin A, is earning scores of fans including former Victoria’s Secret supermodel Georgia Fowler.

Emma Lewisham’s Supernatural Triple Vitamin A + Face Oil ($137) has only been available for two weeks but it’s already making waves in the beauty industry.

Retinol has gained notoriety in the skincare realm for being the ultimate cure-all to everything from pigmentation to acne and fine lines, but its magical powers have some harsh side effects.

The ingredient can be drying on sensitive skin types, makes your face more susceptible to burn in the sun and isn’t pregnancy friendly.

So Emma Lewisham, who makes her products in New Zealand, uses a natural alternative called bakuchiol which is scientifically proven to be as powerful as synthetic forms of retinol – minus the dryness and irritation.

‘The face oil is engineered with award-winning self-regenerative plant stem cell technology, from Swertia chirata extract, that thickens the epidermis, and promotes collagen creation for a plump and bouncy skin texture,’ the website read.

The formulation is exceptionally high in vitamins B, C, and E, as well as all the antioxidants, amino acids, fatty acids, lipids, and omegas essential for slowing the ageing process.

Emma also sells a Skin Reset Even Skin Tone Serum ($148), Supernatural Anti-Ageing Peptide 72-Hour Crème ($141) and two sunscreens, one for the face ($92) and the body ($59.95) – so almost your entire routine is covered.

‘I started using your Skin Reset serum in May and it has changed my life! I had pretty dark pigmentation under both eyes before I started using it and two months later they’re almost completely gone! Thank you so much,’ one woman wrote.

‘Emma Lewisham has made sunscreen fun again, I love the look and feel of the sunscreen. It’s great value and absorbs easily, definitely an essential product for me. Doesn’t feel greasy or too thick,’ another said.

A third added: ‘I don’t usually like wearing sunblock as I find them greasy and I have sensitive skin. I have found Emma Lewisham sunblock to be lightweight and a perfect base for my makeup’.

The company has only been in production since 2019 so there will be more launches to come, with customers recommending a cleanser be added to the suite of skincare.
