MEGHAN MARKLE and Kate Middleton’s so-called ‘feud’ masked the real trouble ensuing between Prince William and Prince Harry, a royal expert claimed in a documentary.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are likely still buzzing from their first joint appearance since the birth of their daughter, Lilibet. They recently spoke at Global Citizen’s 24-hour TV marathon, in which they urged the world’s leaders to take notice of COVID-19 vaccine inequality. From the Great Lawn in Central Park, Harry said: “Are we prepared to do what is necessary to end this pandemic?”
Soon after, Meghan added: “There is so much that we can do today, now, that can get us closer to ending this pandemic and that’s why we’re all here.”
The speech is characteristic of the direction they have attempted to move since leaving the Royal Family last year.
Royal watchers have been unable to pinpoint an exact event that forced their move, rather cataloguing a series of incidents that led up to the fateful departure.
Among one of the tensions reported during Meghan and Harry’s time with the Firm was a so-called ‘feud’ between the Duchess of Sussex and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
Many royal experts later dismissed the notion of any such feud.
This included Carole Malone, who revealed what she believed was the real reason behind the ‘feud’ during Channel 5’s documentary, ‘Royals At War’.
She claimed: “I think more was made of the rift between Meghan and Kate in the beginning, because there were lots of stories about how Meghan hadn’t felt welcomed by Kate when she first came to live in this country.
“There were stories about Meghan’s high-handedness.
“There were stories about how Meghan had made Kate cry in the lead-up to the wedding, and about an altercation about little Charlotte’s dress.
“So there was all of that, and that was kind of put down to this simmering feud between them, and also, I suspect there was a bit of competition between the pair of them.
“And I think that probably masked the real problem, which was the rift between the boys.”
Meghan addressed the reports that she had left Kate in tears during her interview with the US talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
She claimed the event happened the other way around.
She said: “The narrative with Kate – which didn’t happen – was really, really difficult. “Brinkwire Summary News”.
