The Nolans fans were left feeling emotional after watching the sisters on last night’s episode of travel show The Nolans Go Cruising.
The series, which airs on Quest Red on Tuesday nights, follows Coleen, Anne, Maureen and Linda on an adventure around the Mediterranean in March.
Shortly after they returned home from filming both Linda, 61, and Anne, 69, discovered their cancer had returned.
Fans took to Twitter to say it was ‘bittersweet’ to see the sisters looking so healthy and vibrant as they joined Coleen, 55, and Maureen, 66, on a visit to Genoa, in Italy.
The singers reminisced over the time they supported Frank Sinatra on tour as they visited a restaurant with a special connection to the crooner.
Viewers were struck by the TV appearance, with one tweeting: ‘@The_Nolans loved last night episode making it more poignant than ever stay strong.’
Another wrote: ‘Loving #TheNolansGoCruising. Thoughts and prayers are with @LindaNolan_ and @AnneNolan2 after this weeks awful news. xx.’
A third added: ‘Enjoyed tonights episode of the nolans go crusing but had a lump in my throat though i must admit because of what there going through.’
On Monday both sisters Linda and Anne shared brave photos of their hair loss after revealing they are battling cancer together, having begun chemotherapy at Blackpool’s Victoria Hospital last month.
Tweeting news of their diagnoses from the Nolan’s official account, Linda and Anne said: ‘For the past few months during lockdown, Linda and Anne have been battling cancer and chemotherapy together. We will get through this together, as a family.’
Speaking of the moment they were diagnosed, Linda told the Sun: ‘We laughed and we cried really, It’s hysterical. Forget the Chemical Brothers, we’ve become the Chemo Sisters.’
Mother-of-two Anne said: ‘I don’t want to die. I love my life so much. I love my daughters, my grandchildren, my friends, all my family. I want to live for as long as I possibly can.’
Anne found out she has stage three breast cancer in April, 20 years after she was first diagnosed with the disease in 2000. Linda discovered she had incurable liver cancer just an hour later.
Linda has also battled cancer before. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, cellulitis and lymphoedema in her arm in 2007 and secondary cancer on her pelvis in 2017.
The Nolans lost their sister Bernie to cancer in 2013.
The second youngest Nolan was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She underwent chemotherapy and a mastectomy and announced in February 2012 that she was cancer-free.
However, months later Bernie shared the heartbreaking news that her cancer had spread to her brain, lungs, liver and bones. She died in July 2013, aged 52.
