A dating app has revealed the 20 best-looking universities in the UK.
Badoo delved into its database to find out which universities in the UK have the most right-swiped men and women – with some surprising results.
University of the Arts London (UAL) and Leeds came out on top, with Durham and Southampton scraping in at the bottom.
A ‘right swipe’ means a fellow singleton has shown an interest in your profile, and is often used as a gauge of users’ physical attractiveness.
While Oxford and Cambridge may sit comfortably at the top of academic league tables, it seems their brainy students might have a thing or two to learn from the art and design buffs at UAL when it comes to romance.
Not only did UAL beat renowned Russell Group institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge and Edinburgh for taking the top spot for both men and women on the list.
Badoo also found that UAL students send and receive the most messages out of all the universities in the UK – compiling a whopping 5,813,069 in the past year, with the university of Oxford coming in at 2nd place with 3,915,945 messages and Leeds 3rd with 2,783,016.
Interestingly, Nottingham Trent made its way into the top 10 for both men and women with rival University of Nottingham coming in much further down the list.
Interestingly, Oxford and Cambridge goers proved more popular among men with their female students bringing in more right swipes than their male counterparts.
Dating app Badoo, who compiled the research, boasts over 390 million users who make some 6 million matches a day.
It was founded in 2006 by British entrepreneur Andrey Andreev.
