THE SMITHY FAMILY was the victims of a suspected arson attack that completely destroyed their home. Who is the Smithy family, and why was their home set on fire?

The alleged burning of the Smithy Family’s home in southeast London on Wednesday night is being investigated by police. The London Fire Brigade dispatched more than 20 firefighters to the scene of the fire. There were no injuries in the family’s escape from the fire.

A flaming automobile on the driveway appeared to spread flames to the house, according to the London Fire Brigade.

“We were called to reports of a car alight that had spread up the outside of the house,” the fire department said.

“There were many mobility scooters parked outside that had caught fire and were emitting a lot of smoke and flames.

“Everyone had evacuated the building by the time we arrived, and personnel worked tirelessly to prevent further damage to the property and its neighbors.”

The Smithy Family became famous after gaining 2.5 million followers on the video app TikTok.

Father Nick, his spouse Jess, and their three children broadcast footage of their daily lives throughout the lockdown on a regular basis.

Mr Smith quit his job as a bricklayer to focus solely on his social media business after the family’s success on the app.

According to police, the cause of the fire is still being examined, and no one has been detained as of yet.

“Officers and the London Fire Brigade attended and the fire was extinguished at approximately 00:30hrs,” police said in a statement.

“The cause of the fire is being looked into. There have been no reported incidents of injury.

“No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.”

After the fire, Nick Smith, the family’s father, stated the perpetrators “could have killed our family.”

“We all got out of the house OK, the kids are fine,” he claimed. The dogs are in good shape. The house isn’t in good shape. The children are in a secure location.

“To those who did this, you could have killed our family, not only our family, but also my neighbors and friends. It’s inexcusable.”

Mr Smith told the MailOnline on Thursday night that the fire came after the family had been through “three months of stress.”

“We’ve received threats online, and we’ve had people come by and smash the windows,” he said.
