The high-resolution textures in ‘Far Cry 6’ necessitate 11GB VRAM graphics cards—How to Avoid Lags.
The high-resolution textures in “Far Cry 6” PC require graphics with at least 11-12GB VRAM to run.
According to DSOGaming’s new performance investigation, even high-end NVIDIA graphics cards, such as the GeForce RTX 2080, will struggle to load the 35GB-heavy HD Texture Pack of “Far Cry 6.”
NVIDIA’s high-end graphics card only has 10GB of VRAM, which is 1GB short of what is required to run “Far Cry 6” HD textures.
It’s worth noting that the RTX 3080’s compression techniques aren’t quite up to the task of running the property.
Graphics Card Compatible with ‘Far Cry 6’ PC High-Resolution Textures
Due to their VRAM capacity matching the minimal requirements, the “Far Cry 6” HD Textures could be confined to these high-end graphics cards: RTX 3090 Ti, RTX 3090, and RTX 3060, according to WCCFTech.
High-Resolution Textures in ‘Far Cry 6’ for PC
It’s worth noting that the game runs smoothly on the majority of processors and graphics cards. When the huge HD Texture Pack is enabled, however, the problem appears.
DSOGaming also posted a screenshot of the game, which shows a side-by-side comparison of “Far Cry 6” with and without the texture pack in question.
As expected, the HD textures version of the game lacks details in several game items, such as a wooden board.
However, for anyone lacking an 11GB or higher VRAM graphics card, removing the HD Texture Pack is currently the only method to play the game without difficulties.
That is, until the developers decide to reduce the system requirements for loading the enormous texture pack.

The option of decreasing the graphics settings of “Far Cry 6” on PC is one approach to stop the game’s persistent stuttering. This would free up some space on the GPU, or graphics processing unit, allowing the game’s frame rate to improve.
Furthermore, while playing “Far Cry 6,” users can try to shut all background running apps while playing the high-graphics game. Some of the superfluous apps may be draining your system’s resources, preventing the game from performing at its optimum.
