The real estate business is talking about the strange divorce that is currently taking place between Sydney real estate mogul Mario Evangelo and his ex-wife, Janelle.
Explosive court filings state that Mr. Evangelo allegedly tried to pay a bikie to “hurt” him after Janelle repeatedly tried to poison him with her home cooking.
The CEO of the Panthera property empire, Mr. Evangelo, informed authorities that after eating meals cooked by his ex-wife, he fell suddenly ill for prolonged periods of time.
Notably, he said that she would cook him separate meals and tell him not to share them with their kids.
The businessman allegedly fell so ill in February 2023 with symptoms of jaundice that his doctor insisted he go to the hospital right away, according to police papers.
According to the docs, he stopped breathing and needed to be resuscitated by staff after doctors at St George Hospital looked into possible liver damage.
According to the documents, Mr. Evangelo also observed that whenever he traveled abroad or left on business, he would inexplicably start to feel better.
The pair began dating in the early 1990s, but in the years that followed, they were married and divorced twice.

In an even more bizarre turn of events, the Daily Mail has learned that Mr. Evangelo has been seeing married psychic Melanie Obeid in recent months. Obeid apparently has connections to his colorful criminal attorney Zali Burrows.
In a string of Facebook posts, Mr. Evangelo referred to Ms. Obeid as his “Queen” and “Amore,” which is Italian for “love.” He also shared cozy pictures of the two of them at several upscale restaurants in Sydney.
“Happy birthday, my Queen” was the caption for one picture. eagerly anticipating dessert.
The fact that Ms. Obeid is still very much wedded to her wife makes it interesting.
When the Mail contacted Ms. Obeid on Monday afternoon, she verified this.
“My spouse is Tess.” When questioned about the nature of her relationship with Mr. Evangelo, she responded, “I am gay. I wouldn’t read too much into that [the Facebook posts].””

The Daily Mail does not imply otherwise and acknowledges that Ms. Obeid is in a serious relationship with her wife and that Mr. Evangelo and Ms. Obeid are just good friends.
Police claim that Ms. Evangelo, who had previously led her own women’s empowerment foundation, asked a third party for assistance in hiring a bikie to attack her ex-husband last September, according to the AVO application that is still pending in court.
According to police records, she allegedly asked the third party, “Can you find someone to hurt Mario?” Any price will do for me. There’s nothing else I can do.
According to the records, she allegedly inquired, “Isn’t the Forest Inn Hotel a hangout for the bikies?”
The third party is now anticipated to be called as a witness in the AVO proceedings after allegedly contacting the police.
Ms. Evangelo is anticipated to refute the accusations and has not been charged with any crimes.
Zali Burrows, Mr. Evangelo’s attorney (seen outside Downing Centre Local Court), is a colorful figure in the legal community, having represented Bruce Lehrmann and Mark Latham.
Following her appearance on his behalf at Hobart Magistrates’ Court, Ms. Burrows had a cordial drink with prominent lawyer Bruce Lehrmann in Hobart’s upscale Salamanca Place.
It appears that Ms. Burrows once asked Melanie Obeid for a psychic reading that was “extremely accurate.”
Last week, the case made a brief reappearance before the Downing Centre Local Court. Prosecutors disclosed that police were thinking about filing charges, but they did not specify who would be accused.
The prosecutor did not clarify who the police planned to charge or the specifics of the possible criminal accusations.
Joshua Sneesby, representing Ms. Evangelo, agreed to the application, and Zali Burrows, Mr. Evangelo’s attorney, did not object to the protracted postponement.
On July 22, the case is scheduled to return to court.
The duo looked every bit the glitzy power couple when things were going well.
According to the timeline shown in court records, Mr. Evangelo allegedly thought that his wife’s home cooking was poisoning him while they attended high-profile events together in 2023, such as the Gold Coast Women in Business Awards, while grinning for pictures.
When Mr. Evangelo founded Panthera in 2000, the construction company grew into a $300 million real estate conglomerate that is in charge of over $3 billion worth of projects in Australia and New Zealand.
However, there have been flaws in the opulent world of luxury projects.
A rare setback for the formerly rapidly growing company occurred last year when one of the developer’s companies, Panthera Mermaid, failed. This led to the sale of the renowned Mermaid Waters shopping center on the Gold Coast.
