Terror as Audi with child inside goes missing – before police find kid safe

COPS have found a child and a missing Audi after launching an urgent hunt this afternoon.

The car had last been seen in the Beckton Triangle retail park in Newham, east London, just after midday – with the child reportedly inside.

Cops launched a desperate appeal on Twitter this afternoon, attracting hundreds of retweets in just over an hour.

The Metropolitan Police wrote: “We are urgently trying to locate a white Audi A3 reg GK20 AFU that has been reported missing.

“We believe there is a young child inside. The car was last seen in Beckton Triangle, E6 #Newham at approx 12:18hrs today.

“If seen please call 999.”

They later confirmed at around 3.25pm that the child had been found “safe and well elsewhere”.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Thank you for your retweets.

“The white Audi we appealed for has been found and the child located safe and well elsewhere.

“We’re establishing the circumstances of the report.”
