SEOUL, July 1 – Following are South Korea’s preliminary export and import figures for June, released by the government on Wednesday (rounded): June *May Balance ($ billion) +3.67 +0.45 Exports ($ billion) 39.21 34.90 (% growth vs yr ago) -10.9 -23.6 Imports ($ billion) 35.55 34.46 (% growth vs yr ago) -11.4 -21.0 Avg exports per working day -18.5 -18.3 (% growth vs yr ago) * Revised on June 15 NOTES: – Exports in June tumbled 10.9% in year-on-year terms, extending the double-digit contraction into a third month. – Reuters poll: June exports were forecast to shrink a median 7.8% year-on-year, while imports were seen declining 9.6%, according to a Reuters poll of 12 economists. – There were 23.5 working days in June versus 21.5 days in the comparable month of 2019.
