Sturgeon’s SNP has been chastised for causing “Covid confusion” on Scotland’s Independence Day.
As Scotland lowers rules, NICOLA STURGEON has been chastised for causing “Covid confusion” for businesses.
Andrew Bowie, a Scottish Conservative MP, said that the SNP and Nicola Sturgeon must do more to combat the coronavirus. The Conservative lawmaker claimed on GB News that the government’s guidance had been confused at times. He has also lately brought up the issue of nightclub masks in the run-up to Scotland’s independence day.
“I think the SNP deserves a ‘must do better and try harder’ grade,” Mr Bowie remarked.
“There has been a lot of misunderstanding, especially in the last week.
“Nightclub owners, for example, didn’t know whether or not guests in the nightclub would have to wear a mask on the dance floor until Friday, after being promised on Tuesday that they would be able to open.
“They were unsure if individuals would be able to drink while standing.
“Over the last week of vertical drinking, whatever that is, we’ve had this stupid phrase arise.
“Would you be able to drink in a pub without wearing a mask and everything?”
Mr. Bowie acknowledged that the Scottish Government has since clarified the nightclub situation.
“We found out on Friday that you don’t have to wear a mask at a nightclub, which I’m sure was a huge relief to the owners,” he explained.
“I can’t image many people going out dancing while wearing a mask.
“As a result, there has been some misunderstanding.
“I believe the Scottish Government has to improve its communication skills.
“We’re talking about people’s livelihoods here, and the owners of these businesses and venues need to know exactly what their clients can do.”
Mr Bowie went on to say that he believes the Scottish Government is on the same track as the Westminster Government on Covid, albeit at a slower pace.
Despite what Nicola Sturgeon would have you believe, the Scottish Government has been following the UK Government’s lead, albeit a few weeks behind.
“I believe we are on the same wavelength.
“Today is a fantastic day; we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and return to normalcy.”
