The Fijian Drua have added test match steel to their forward pack for this afternoon’s Australian National Rugby Championship clash against Brisbane City in Lautoka.
Flying Fijians internationals Joeli Veitayaki, Ratunaisa Navuma and Mosese Ducivaki will form an all-new front-row at Churchill Park after the home side struggled at set pieces during their opening round win against Melbourne Rising.
“We’re going with the experience to start with, to give us stability in our scrum and line out, as we know Brisbane City will target the set piece.” said head coach Senirusi Seruvakula.
Peni Raidre also earns a start at blindside flanker and coach Senirusi Seruvakula says they want to keep their winning momentum going.
“Our first two games is home advantage and it’s a big bonus for us so we have to make use of these two homes games before we fly out next week to Queensland,” said Mr Seruvakula.
Brisbane City were outclassed 47-29 by the Western Force in their opening round match but with former Wallabies duo Quade Cooper and Karmichael Hunt in the team Senirusi Seruvakula is expecting another difficult game.
“After the loss last week they will become stronger this week and we just need to forget about last week’s game and focus for this week,” Mr Seruvakula said.
Fiji-born winger Emori Waqavulagi will also start for the visitors in Lautoka, while halfback Moses Sorovi is the son of Fiji’s former heavyweight boxing champion, Mosese Sorovi.
