Sophie Wessex and Edward are expected to visit the Queen at Balmoral in August, as is customary.
SOPHIE WESSEX and Prince Edward could spend their summer holidays at one of the Royal Family’s estates.
The Countess and the Earl may take a vacation from their royal duties to spend time with their children, Lady Louise Windsor, 17, and James, Viscount Severn, 13, who are both 17 years old.
The royal couple has previously traveled to famous holiday places such as Spain to soak up the sun.
The Wessexes stopped on Espalmador, a small privately owned uninhabited island near Formentera, on one such trip.
They may, however, choose for a staycation this year and spend time with the Queen, who has lately arrived at her Balmoral estate.
Her Majesty closed the estate to the public and went on a summer vacation to Scotland.
The visit is the Monarch’s first to Balmoral since her husband, Prince Philip, died in April.
Balmoral Castle’s Instagram account announced on Tuesday that its doors will be closed until April of next year.
“Balmoral castle and grounds is now closed to the public till April 2022,” said a caption below a photo of the site.
“Throughout the year of 2021, we would want to thank each and every visitor to the estate, and we hope you all had a wonderful time.
“Despite the constraints and restrictions imposed by the epidemic, it has been a pleasure to greet so many smiling faces at Balmoral.
