Six ferocious lions clutch the giraffe and sink their teeth into it before it makes a miraculous escape.

A terrifying video shows a pride of lions sinking their teeth into a giraffe in an attempt to bring it down, with the longneck appearing unconcerned and calmly avoiding the onslaught.

The horrific moment a giraffe was assaulted by six lions before successfully avoiding the predators has been captured on video in South Africa’s Klaserie Game Reserve.

The ferocious animals can be seen crawling around the giraffe’s legs, attempting to take it down.

A lioness even leaps into the air and sinks her teeth into the big animal’s back, bringing it to a halt.

The lion tries to rip a chunk out of the giraffe’s back, but the giraffe remains unaffected and continues on its way, with a lion clinging to each of its legs, according to the Sun.

The longneck, on the other hand, is too powerful for the predators, and the majority of the lions lose interest.

Most give up, leaving only a few to launch one final attack, which the giraffe easily repels with a handful of kicks.

While giraffes are commonly thought of as prey for lions, they are capable of reversing the situation.

In January 2020, video footage emerged of an eight-lion pride attempting to take down a giraffe, only to quickly regret their decision when they received a battering instead of a meal.

However, the predators triumphed in March 2017, when a lion successfully grabbed a giraffe’s neck and brought the tall animal down, before dining on its body.
