Sen. Rand Paul says that President Donald Trump should have senior White House officials take lie-detector tests to find out who wrote the anonymous op-ed for The New York Times describing the chaos and dysfunction experienced by those trying to deal with Trump’s erratic behavior.
Paul said, “We use the lie-detector test routinely for CIA agents and FBI agents,” he argued. “If you have a security clearance in the White House, I think it would be acceptable to use a lie detector test and ask people whether or not they’re taking to the media against the policy of the White House.”
Sen. Paul doesn’t indicate if he would have Trump escalate the interrogations to waterboarding should the lie-detector not get the necessary results.
Then again, using a lie-detector on senior White House officials would not seem to do much in the area of team building, would it?
The right question
Still, if Trump goes this route the question to ask the interrogated staff members and officials and cabinet members and so on is NOT if they wrote the Times essay.
Instead, they should ask: Is it accurate?
